Easter 2001 Slideshow

Easter Sunday is quite a time of celebration at Covenant. We begin at Sunrise with a contemplative service on our front porch. This is not a service for those who need lots of talking. This year we met at 6:15am and sat quietly watching the sunrise and listening to the birds begin to sing. Then we had a time of guided prayer, each one of us imagining that he/she was there the morning that they found the empty tomb of Jesus.

Others arrived at 9:15 for our annual Easter potluck brunch. Everyone brings "breakfasty" and "brunchy" foods which we enjoy with great gusto. The kids have an Easter Egg hunt which is always wild and crazy.

Somehow we manage to put tables away and get kids calmed down in time for our Easter worship service.

What is worship if not a combination of jubilant celebration and humble praise?

Easter is all of that.
